General Meeting and Resource Room

REMINDER: This months meeting is on Saturday 15 April 2023 and will be held at the usual place, the Uniting Church Hall, 23 William Street, Christies Beach, South Australia.
The Resource Room will be open from 12noon for borrowing books. If you would like to use a computer before the meeting begins it will need to be booked.
Members can attend for free and guests are $3 per person. Please bring a gold coin if you would like afternoon tea (eg. coffee or tea plus biscuit or cake). Also change if you would like to purchase from the trading table (eg. home made jam, books, etc).
The meeting time is 1:15pm and talk is by Paddy O’Toole on Willunga’s Mounted Police; Crime, Crime and Constables. Willunga Police Station was established in late 1839 at the Government (now Courthouse) Reserve. The Police Station was sited at the Courthouse Reserve until 1930. During that time around 50 officers from the mounted constables were stationed there, investigating crimes from stealing fruit to murder. Speaker Paddy O’Toole will explore adventures of the Willunga Police during this era, some of the criminals they encountered, and the crimes committed.
